Upcoming Volkswagen 7-Seater
Volkswagen is currently testing the new Tayron in India. Having said that, it was earlier rumoured that the Tayron will be launched after the festive season of Diwali. Now that Diwali is about to get over, we are highly anticipating some official news from the brand. So, we can expect Volkswagen to launch the Tayron in the first week of November or sometime in December. Additionally, it remains unclear whether the brand will introduce the Tayron through CBU or CKD routes. If launched as CKD, we can expect the pricing to be competitive – between Rs 48 lakh & Rs 56 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

VW Tayron – As A Product
For starters, the Tayron is fundamentally the Skoda Kodiaq. So, just like the Kodiaq, the Tayron is based on the MQB EVO platform and gets the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine (201bhp & 320Nm). Also, it will be interesting to see if Tayron comes with an option for AWD – like the Skoda Kodiaq! That said, the similarities between the two SUVs end here!

In terms of design, the Tayron is unmistakably a Volkswagen! On the outside, it shared design cues with the Taigun R Line – launched earlier this year. Just like the Taigun R Line, the Tayron gets sleek headlamps, a sleek front grille and aggressively styled bumpers. The side profile of the Tayron is equally sleek and has a tall stance for adequate headroom for all three rows. And at the rear, it gets sleek connected tail lamps & neat design for the bumpers.

Interior & Features
Currently, there’s no information available about the interiors of this 7-seater. However, similar to the exterior, the interior will have design cues of the Taigun R Line. Just like any other VW, the Tayron is expected to have a practical cabin, with soft-touch elements to enhance its premium feel.

In terms of features, we are expecting the Tayron to come equipped with – 15-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, HUD, powered front seats, front massage seats, an 8-speaker audio system, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS and more.
