Having an adventure bike in India has been a cult now-a-days. However, a lack of Adventure bikes in its portfolio could be troubling the Indian bike-maker, Bajaj. Yes, the KTM ADVs come under it, but it has none with any Bajaj tag. So, will Bajaj plan to launch one soon?

Upcoming Bajaj Adventure Bike –
As a tourer offering, Bajaj only has the Dominar in its portfolio. However, it cannot be termed as a perfect adventure bike, as it lacks off-road features, and misses out on having a higher ground clearance.
Having said that, Bajaj needs to work on a dedicated adventure tourer bike, which can be similar to the KTM’s offering. The Bajaj’s ADV might have design characteristics similar to the Dominar, along with the same 373cc engine producing 39bhp & 35Nm. It can also equip the new KTM 398cc engine producing 44bhp & 39Nm torque. While the KTMs have the tendency of fitting an overstressed engine, Bajaj might tune the engine as per its need.

Design and Features
While it’s too early to speculate anything, we expect the Bajaj’s ADV might have design similarities with the Dominar. The Dominar has a good riding stance, with up-right handlebars, bulky design and a short windscreen. In its touring avatar, some extra changes we expect are – a slightly longer windscreen, shaving down the bulkiness and upgrading the tires to 19-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear).
Talking about the features, Bajaj could borrow some features from the KTM ADVs like traction control, cruise control, ABS switch, riding modes and others. Also unlike the regular Dominar, the ADV version might get a double stand!
This adventure tourer will be positioned above the Dominar 400 in Bajaj’s lineup. That said, expect its pricing to be slightly increased. However, Just like the KTM ADV 250, Bajaj could also add an 250 ADV again based on Dominar 250, to take benefits of the GST 2.0.

Launch
As this is a purely speculative story, there’s no confirmation from the brand about its plan of launching an ADV anytime soon in the coming year. However, looking at the market needs and for taking the advantage, Bajaj could think of offering an adventure bike in the country.
