Renault has officially revealed its 7-seater SUV in the foreign market, and is expected to make its debut in India by mid-2026. It will be a prime competitor to the Mahindra’s flagship SUV. The Boreal’s launch is expected to be a game changer, as Renault believes in aggressive pricing strategy – also it gets loads of features.
Some prime features to expect are – dual 10-inch screen for infotainment and instrument cluster, ambient lighting, front memory seat (for passenger and driver) with massage function (only driver), wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, Harman Kardon sound system, Level 2 ADAS, rear AC vents and others in its package. Nissan will also be launching a 7-seater based on its new Tekton SUV, to disrupt the segment. Again, the Nissan’s model too will be equipped with new-age features and safety suit, to serve the purpose in the country.
Expected to be based on the showcased 5-seater Tekton SUV – we expect it to carry the same set of features like big touchscreen infotainment, wireless smartphone connectivity, ADAS, 360-degree camera, powered and ventilated seats, premium upholstery and more in its package. Powertrain-wise, it is expected to be powered by the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. It could also get a hybrid powertrain option. The model is expected to be launched by the end of 2026.

Upcoming 7-Seater SUVs – Hyundai 7-Seater

Hyundai might also look to enter the Mahindra XUV 700’s segment, with a new model. The brand at present, has the Alcazar as an entry-level 7-seater option, but soon it might introduce a new nameplate. While things are unfolding constantly, at present, the brand has not revealed any launch timeline for this new 7-seater.
Thereby speculating, we can expect the new model to adapt the design language from the Creta, as well as carry the feature list from the compact SUV. While it’s too early to say anything, this new Hyundai 7-seater might come with some advanced tech including a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, digital instrument cluster, ADAS level 2, captain and bench seat options in the second row, connected car tech and others in its package. Powertrain-wise, it can get a 1.5-litre hybrid engine to do the job. This 7-seater is expected to launch in 2027.
